Still Running and Having Fun Again

After running Leadville in 2018 and missing the Hope Pass cutoff by 2 minutes I spent the remaining part of 2018 and all of 2019 training for and running other 100 mile races. I had many great adventures and a life lesson about recovery! I found myself overtrained, injured, and DNF ing races on a regular basis.

2020 has had the obvious challenge of COVID19, in addition, I discovered I have high blood pressure. Still enjoying the thrill of running and pushing my limits I took the first 9 months of 2020 and worked on dialing in my medication. Many of the medications I tried caused my heart rate to spike, making it almost impossible to run more than a few miles at a time even at a very reduced effort. By Oct I had finally found a medication and dosage that works for me and am thankfully regularly running over 30 miles a week.

Now 52 years young, feeling good, seeing the improvement I am increasing weekly mileage. Look out world I have unfinished business with Leadville (Perhaps 2021?) and eyeing one of the 200's ( Bigfoot 200, Tahoe 200, Moab 240)
